Video-Commentary by Rabbi Chaim Richman, The Temple Institute, Jerusalem: The book of Vayikra, (Leviticus), the most intimate of the five books of Torah, opens with a whisper. With the establishment of the Tabernacle, G-d is welcomed back into the world!
Shabbat Shalom
Since my secession from the Church in 2009, my Jewish Orthodox friends in Israel and I have been following the Fake News of Rome in articles and political Shabbat commentaries on GSI (God's Sabbath Int.). The former Pontiff destroyed the dwelling place of God, the temple in Jerusalem – fact! Was the New Testament and the Church just a world dominance inspired business idea of Rome? What is politics today? Enjoy your trip on GSI.
In very religious circels it is custom that a boy who learns to read the bible, starts with “Wajikrah” (3rd book Mozes); surprising dry material for a boy of six years; before the talmudic times, i.e. when the temple was still existing, it were the priests, who could read and explain to the common people the commandments. So the young childs of priestly descent were supposed to learn first of all, about the tasks they would fulfill later on: the details of how and when to sacrifice. In a later stage, when Israel was supposed to be “a holy people,a People of priests”, it became customary to teach the above chapters before all the rest. Israel Yaoz
One Day. One G-d. One Venture.
If you…call the Sabbath a »delight« , the holy day of the LORD »honorable«;…Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, …for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. (Isaia 58,13+14)
