«The double Torah reading of Tazria-Metzora presents us with a mysterious ailment known as tzar’at, and commonly translated as leprosy, but whose true nature remains shrouded in mystery. The very fact that this disease which effects the skin, garments and even the stones that make up the wall of a house, is so elusive even to our modern, learned, sophisticated minds, is eerily reminiscent of the current Corona virus pandemic, whose true nature also is, at present, just beyond the grasp of our greatest scientists and researchers. The lack of certainty, and the loss of control over our own fates that it engenders, is profoundly humbling.
