Pastors “Coming Out”
Jesus prayer to His Father: Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth - in another place: But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
For Jesus it is always about coming to the insight of the eternal Holy Place – therefore, to resurrect again the „brazen fellowship“ wanted by the FATHER between men and HIM (see Song of Songs, a divine allegory of worldly marriage to the marriage with GOD). As for man such a relationship is “too narrow”, Jesus is consequently asked at the introduction for the »Keep the commands«-story, to bless the divorce of marriage (HIM + His commands). Faithfully to the FATHER, with whom He was completely ONE, and wanted, that we also would be ONE with the Father, Jesus answers initially: »Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.« Blessing to divorce receives a clear rejection, however: because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: With this confirms Jesus to each men the liberty for the decision, to live in the hardness of the heart (bitterness, rebellion against God) or in the Holy Place (affiliation to God).
Does this not sound familiar? That moment as we got to know our man (or our wife) and to love, that was holy! Only God could have brought them together! Years later they realised, that this event, that was once seen and perceived as holy and passionately, was a challenge -> we start to deny the former holiness and to make ourselves “the Holy Place available”, thus to make God and His blessing “after our desire disposable”. The Holy One will be forever in “the for us un-available” – that is GOD be thank, by Him so specified (Shabbat, the Holy People). Why do we want to make it available for us, defying His Glory? Jesus brings it directly to the real point right after marriage question started by the Pharisees. Namely, as immediately after the rich young ruler came to Him and asked, what good he has to do, to receive life. Jesus answers indeed: »keep the commands«, omitting the commands from »I am the LORD, your God«, to »therefore the LORD blessed the Shabbat day and sanctified it« already away, for He had already recognised in the very question his hard heart. All the same from this answer by Jesus some “proud Christians” (like Luther too, in the years after 1534, „Letter against the Shabbat keepers“ from 1538) to educe the justification, to elevate themselves above His commands regulating our fellowship with HIM (1st – 3rd respectively 4th command), to lift up HIS chosen people as well as keeping God‘s Shabbat and missed, that Jesus certified them already for their attitude callousness. But: Who can grasp it, those let them grasp it!
It is about fellowship; after 1.700 years since Constantine finally to do again something desired by God from the heart, to do „together“ with His People – keeping God‘s Shabbat! Means: In humble love to accept the fellowship, that FATHER and SON granted me to my blessing and to my »delight« on the Holy One? Do I want to have my heart in union with the Holy People and HIM, His promises and my personal happiness passionately running to Him?
By the testimony we overcome – also our fear of men! Innumerably Christians keep the Shabbat holy before God, but secret towards their brothers and sisters. Jesus kept the Shabbat publicly, for us to imitate. You are heartily invited in the following “Coming Out” listed by countries - as pastor or leader of a ministry in a Church, or a Christian respectively Jewish newspaper/organisation/prayer group.
