«Don’t mistake his zealotry for jealousy, or the violent nature of his act which defended G-d’s honor, and simultaneously put an end to Israel’s licentious behavior and the plague that was decimating the nation, for the sign of a violent nature in his soul. G-d Himself testifies to the purity of Pinchas‘ motives and to the peaceful, loving nature of his soul, saying „I hereby give him My covenant of peace. It shall be for him and for his descendants after him as an eternal covenant of kehunah, because he was zealous for his G-d and atoned for the children of Israel.“ (Numbers 25:12-13)»…more:

      »True Torah leadership, that which parashat Pinchas extols, serves the people by standing before G-d and seeking His council in leading the nation. All the players in this week’s Torah reading, Pinchas, the daughters of Tzelaphchad, Moshe and Yehoshua, exhibit qualities of leadership, putting the people and G-d before themselves. The concluding mention of the Temple offerings, from the daily Tamid, to Rosh Chodesh, and including all the festivals and holy days, are a final message emphasizing the centrality of the Holy Temple to true leadership« …more:

    „The war begun by Balak and Bilaam against Israel is still being waged today. This is the war against the Jewish family, the soul and source of Israel’s strength. Balak and Bilaam conspired to entrap Israel with idol worship and licentiousness. Today, Israel’s enemies kidnap her children and fire missiles into her towns and villages.

    Parashat Pinchas contains three responses to the war against the Jewish family: The zealotry of Pinchas, the love of the land of Tzelaphchad’s daughters and the increased sanctity and closeness to G-d engendered by the Shabbat and holiday Musaf (additional) offerings in the Holy Temple“, more:

Commentary

„The five daughters of Tzelaphchad, Machlah, Noa, Hogla, Milcah and Tirzah remain to this day shining examples of righteous Jews whose love of the land of Israel is irrepressible and unstoppable. Their spiritual descendents today…

One of the daughters of the Moabits became the Grand-Grandmother of King David, saying:
“ Your people will be My people, Your God will be My God! „

This commitment by Ruth was the first Biblical conversion of a non-Jew woman to Judaism, called Giyur in Hebrew.
Ruth became the ancestress of King David and first glimmer of hope that people out of the the nations (Christians / pagens) are able to find the way back to the One God of Israel (even as a Moabitess [„a Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of the LORD„] – confer Shabbat Yethro):

Abstract of the Commentary

In our previous Torah portion we read how Israel was saved by God from the curses of the Moabite king Balak and his seer Balaam. Instead of cursing, Balaam “gave counsel to trespass against the LORD” (31:16).

Balaam became the Biblical prototype of a false teacher. But in this week’s reading, “…the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab. For they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. Israel joined themselves to Baal of Peor” (25:1-3).

The seducing charm of a woman has always been a danger the Bible warns us about, especially from unbelievers who encourage worship of their idol gods. And it is a weakness of some men, for example the wise King Solomon and the mighty Samson. read more…

Liberalism is a phycological disorder, an if that’s the only way to correct them then so be it. Also I don’t believe that Pinchas is Elijah pre-carnate though it would be understandable (to me) if you claimed that he acted in the same righteous spirit. Peace be with you…
