It also begins the journey of the Ark of the Covenant from its place in the Holy of Holies in the desert Tabernacle, at the center of the Israelite encampment, surrounded by the Levitical encampment, to its ultimate destination in the Holy Temple built by King Solomon in Jerusalem, whose modern day liberation and reunification we are celebrating this Friday – Jerusalem Day!
