? – A questioning commentary on Parashat NOACH by Eric Martienssen
Genesis 6:9 – 11:32; Isaiah 54:1 – 55:5

According to Wikipedia (click it’s entire article ► here) Nûḥ ibn Lamech ibn Methuselah (Arabic: نوح‎, translit. Nūḥ‎), known as Noah in the Old Testament, is recognized in Islam as a prophet and apostle of God (Arabic: Allāh). He is a highly important figure in Islamic tradition, as he is counted amongst the earliest prophets sent by God to mankind. According to Islam, Noah’s mission was to save a wicked world, plunged in depravity and sin. God charged Noah with the duty of preaching to his people to make them abandon idolatry and to worship only the One Creator and to live good and pure lives. Although he preached the Message of God with immense zeal, his people refused to mend their ways, leading to his building of the Ark and the famous event of the Deluge, the Great Flood in which all the evil people of his time perished. The influence of Noah’s preaching and prophet-hood spanned 950 years according to Quran.

Noah’s mission had a double character: he had to warn his people, asking them to call for repentance and, at the same time, he had to preach about God’s mercy and forgiveness. . .

Isn’t he a bit like Donald Trump and his mission in all aspects of this current time, especially against the US-Christian Apocalypse Now? America’s and the world’s last chance before . . . Whatever you enter here, whether Islam or Hillary Clinton and their wars, which have already set the whole world on fire, isn’t it your turn to ask and answer yourself, Now?

compassion on you (Israel).” (verses 7-8)

Our prophet asks at the end of Haftorah Noach (Isaiah 55:1-5):
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a Leader and Commander to the people. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of YY thy Elohim, and for the Holy One of Yisrael; for he hath glorified thee.

Since my secession from the Church in 2009, my Jewish Orthodox friends in Israel and I have been following the Fake News of Rome in articles and political Shabbat commentaries on GSI (God's Sabbath Int.). The former Pontiff destroyed the dwelling place of God, the temple in Jerusalem – fact! Was the New Testament and the Church just a world dominance inspired business idea of Rome? What is politics today? Enjoy your trip on GSI.
